Deyse Lopez
Team Lead, Research and Data Analytics
As team lead for Alabama Power's economic development team, Deyse Lopez enjoys the storytelling aspect of her role, using data to recruit new business to the state of Alabama.
Through her team's efforts in GIS and workforce analytics, Deyse helps communities prepare for growth and supports business recruitment and expansion efforts.
Among Deyse's strengths are her varied background and natural ability to build consensus. In her role, she is an advocate and champion of optimizing processes and exploring new technologies that support the excellence of her team.
Beginning as an intern, Deyse has spent time in various services positions with Alabama Power and its parent, Southern Company. Her experience in those roles gave her a robust understanding of internal controls, along with valuable experience in compliance and risk control.
Deyse is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), with a degree in accounting. She currently serves on the board of directors of March of Dimes and has been on the junior board of the Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama (HICA) and the board of Institute of Internal Auditors, where she has held various leadership roles.
Deyse was born in Michoacán, Mexico. She and her husband Guillermo have three children, Alex, David, and Rosalie.
I wear many hats within the team, which allows me to see the whole picture and everything it takes to drive economic growth within our state. I enjoy working with others and building those relationships that allow us to be successful as a team.
