Amendi Stephens represents Industrial Business Development within Alabama Power’s Economic and Community Development organization. Amendi identifies profitable economic growth opportunities through competitive intelligence with a focus on Alabama’s chemical corridor and other industry segments such as primary metals and forest products.
Prior to joining the Alabama Power Economic Development team in May 2017, Amendi managed business development efforts through leadership in project development and contract negotiation of long-term power purchase agreements for Southern Power, a Southern Company wholesale energy subsidiary.
Amendi has over 15 years of experience in the utility industry. Her experience as a Business Development Manager along with her analytical skills and background in chemical engineering uniquely suits her as a key resource to industrial companies seeking to grow their businesses within the state of Alabama.
Amendi graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. She remains connected to Auburn through her membership in 100+ Women Strong, an Auburn alumni organization dedicated to the future of women in engineering. Amendi also participates in several other organizations such as the Alabama Power Service Organization (APSO) and the Women’s Energy Network.
In her leisure time, Amendi enjoys spending time with her two nieces, traveling both domestically and abroad, and keeping company with her dog, Molly, and two new rescue kittens.
