A business development analyst for Alabama Power’s Economic and Community Development Team since 2017, Deyse supports targeted industrial segment initiatives and lead generation opportunities, as well as manages the department’s budget. As the only accountant on the team, she provides structure and financial expertise to the Business Development group.
Deyse has a varied background, starting as an intern assisting with financial audits to spending most of her career in the Accounting, Finance and Treasury (AFT) organization, obtaining a robust understanding of internal controls. She also has experience working in compliance and risk control.
She plays the role of liaison across departments very well and continues to use those strengths in her current position, helping maintain and build customer relationships. She’s also an advocate and champion of all marketing efforts, working with the team to best optimize online platforms and communicating which industries and businesses are making headlines in Alabama.
Deyse graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with an undergraduate degree in Accounting. Born in Michoacán, Mexico, Deyse and her husband, Guillermo, have three children – Alex, David and Rosalie.
When not managing the day-to-day of her group at the office or her family at home, she enjoys volunteering in her community. She serves on the Junior Board for the Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama (HICA) and has served on the Institute of Internal Auditors Board, holding various leadership positions.
“I wear many hats within the team, which allows me to see the whole picture and everything it takes to drive economic growth within our state. I enjoy working with others and building those relationships that allow us to be successful as a team.”
