From joining Alabama Power Company in 2008 as a senior industrial engineer to the current role of project manager, Joel has an extensive history of working with some of Alabama’s biggest companies. His main goal is to identify potential growth opportunities as well as potential threats, so he can continue to provide support and help existing and expanding companies grow in Alabama.
With a background in industrial and systems engineering, Joel’s entire career has been focused on finding energy-efficient and competitive solutions for companies. He started as an engineer in Alabama Power’s Technology Applications Center. It was there he provided improvement assessments and energy audits to industrial and commercial customers. Today, he continues to build on those relationships by managing projects that will further improve their business as well as the community.
A graduate from Auburn University, Joel has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. He is also certified in energy management and as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. He is very involved in United Way and in his church, Prince of Peace.
Whether it’s traveling across the U.S., playing outside, building puzzles or doing arts and crafts, Joel loves spending time with his wife and two kids. He’s also very active with hobbies including golf, running, mountain biking, hiking and going to Auburn football games.
“I enjoy getting to know the different companies in Alabama and finding ways to strengthen their current foothold in the state and in their industry. Building those relationships are important to me. I take great care to listen to their needs and goals, so I can then go out and help make them happen.”
