Olin Corp. is the No. 1 global supplier of epoxy materials, the No.1 global producer of caustic soda, chlorinated organics and the No.1 merchant supplier of chlorine, bleach and hydrochloric acid in North America. As the world’s leading chlori alkali producer with the largest chlorine production capacity, Olin’s McIntosh plant in Washington county, not far from Mobile, is one of the largest in the chlor alkali system. The plant manufactures reagents for a host of common items including pulp and paper, textiles, vinyl products, food processing, water treatment, soap, and cleaning products. Olin has invested and continues to invest millions of dollars for essential maintenance and upgrades at the plant, which was built in 1952. Olin annually spends over $80 million in the McIntosh/Washington County area through the purchase of goods and services.
